Kind words about my writing

“The lyric voice in Kelsea Habecker’s [poetry] is almost hypnotically lovely. Her poems are so cleanly written! They are also grave, soulful, and infinitely tender. Other hallmarks include their passionate restraint, beacon-like humility, great delicacy of expression, and spirit of endurance—this last despite the arctic darkness many of them so beautifully reveal, but never succumb to.”

Creating to heal

I’m also trained as a coach & group facilitator. I am a certified grief & bereavement specialist. My work with groups & individuals is trauma-informed, with a specialty in contemplative practice.

I use writing and intuitive art-making to build self-awareness, courage & empathy, and to help process grief & loss in ways that allow for healing and integration.

Kind words about me:

“I’ve had the pleasure to know Ms. Habecker for well over 16 years, and although I’m not a writer myself, as a primary care physician I have had the privilege to meet and know a wide swath of humanity over the years. It is with that lens that I reflect and can wholeheartedly say: Kelsea is one of the—if not the—most intentional and thoughtful of humans. She is kind and grounded and can at once be still and quiet and introspective but also warm and empathetic and social.” -D.B.

“It is a great thing to come to the unbegun places of our living and to say: Now we will find the words.”
